I Shouldn't Wait so Long to Blog

Okay so it's been about a week or so since my last blog, I think. So naturally I have a lot to say about the past few days, partly due to zero time to spare for blogging and partly due to the fact that when I do have a minute, I crash.

Well I will start this by saying that at the moment we are in Emeyt, France. And right this minute almost everyone from Antoine's side of family is over at the house we're renting for the evening (dinner, games, champange and chatting). Right now everyone is just hanging out and enjoying the sunset and cool weather that the evening brought.

Okay so backing up a little bit...

We left Dinard Friday morning and drove for about five hours to a place called Puy Du Fou. One of the most amazing places I've ever been to in my life (and I've been to Africa).

Basically it's this huge parc (called ironically Le Grand Parc), that has six different time periods within. Each time period i.e. Vikings, Middle Ages, Roman Empire, etc.. had a production about that particular event. It's hard to explain now that I'm trying to.

We went to the three mentioned above, and the Roman Empire was definitely my favorite.
It took place in this HUGE circular roman coliseum and it was a realistic drama of a gladitorial fight, and it included lions and tigers and camels and chariot racing and gladiators, complete with surround sound and amazing music. I can't even express my awe at it. It was unbelievable.
The Vikings and the Medieval periods were just as good. The medieval period was centered around a jousting tournement. I mean to tell you, jousting tournemts in those days were intense! It turned into a war between the french and english (I kept on recieving really mean looks from the french lady beside me who noticed I spoke english, as if it were my fault the english attacked. Hey, I'm just an american, give me a break it wasn't my fault!)

Well anyways, after we got done at Puy Du Fou (and by the way you can go to the website puydufou.com and see what i'm talking about) we drove another hour to a hotel and slpet there. Saturday morning we continued our journey to mamie's house. We arrived in Emeyt three hours later. I can't tell you how great it was to drive through the town and see all the familiar sights from my first and secong trip here. It was like reopening a treasure box in the back of my mind. Good stuff.

Well we've been here since Saturday, it's now Wednesday. I went to the market this morning with Anne and Aubert and two nights ago a big group of us (Anne, Aubert, Lawrence, Francoise, Marie, Jean-Claude and myself) went to a nightime market, like a medieval themed festival and walked around that for while.

Since then we've just been hanging around, it's a two week family reunion so obviously everyone's going to have their moments, but all in all, I'm thouroughly enjoyinh my time here with my second family, the Janicots.

I hope this finds all my readers well. I will try really hard not to let a whole week or more pass again without and update!
