So, I packed up all my stuff, said goodbye to all my friends and family, and headed to France to be an Au Peir. The getting over here part wasn't bad. Lot's of time for reading and writing and eating and sleeping, all that jazz. I was born to fly..:)
Once I got here and once I found my chauffer, I dragged all my bags up a huge flight of stairs and then we were on our way! I was with Anais (a.k.a Nini for future reference) and Luciene (a.k.a Lulu). Lulu drove us to the home of Antione and Cecile Janicot (a.k.a the family I'm nannying for) and after some refreshing water and a piece of something delicious that I don't know the name of, I sai my goodbyes to Nini andLulu took her to the train station. Lulu came back to the house because she was too tired to drive back to her house.
So, the kids I'm au peiring are wonderful. There's 8 yr. old Mathilde, 7 yr. old Paul, 4 yr. old Thomas, and 1 yr. old Joseph. Paul reminds of my little brother David, same eyes, same smile, and same sweetness.
I'm staying in a little compound beside the house (the house is beautiful by the way). My room very nice. I went and cleaned up from my flight, and then managed to unpack most everything. It turns out that we're leaving for vacation in two days so I'll need to repack most everything I unpacked. Oh the joys of traveling gal! But a month in Brittany, France will be well worth it I imagine:)
We had fresh vegetables (tomatos and avacodo dressed in a mustard, oil, vinegarette), beef and carrots, and of course cheese and frech fruit, for dinner. An amazing first meal!
And now the rest of the night is ahead of me. I'd forgotten how much I missed it on this side of the globe... I'm very much looking forward to this summer and all it has to offer...
